At Make a Bucket List we love a good brewery tour, especially when it’s in the lovely county of Oxfordshire.
Wychwood and Brakspear Beers are the brewers of the legendary Hobgoblin a firm favourite for all real ale lovers. Other flavours in the brewery are the King Goblin, Imperial Red, Dr Thirsty’s and Ginger Beard. They even have seasonal flavours such as Pumpking, Bah Humbug, Full Brazilian and the Whitewych. Could you think of anything better then, than a brewery tour at Wychwood and Brakspear. You will have the opportunity to sample Hobgoblin and a number of their range, which can be bought from the brewery shop as single bottles, or in gift packs and mixed selection cases.
The tour is approximately two hours, this includes forty five minutes on the guided tour taking you through the brewing process, from seeing the raw ingredients to the finished product, taking in the Copper, Mash Tun and Brakspear’s famous Double Drop system.
The tour costs £7.50 per person which is a fantastic price, especially as this includes the tour, beer sampling and a complimentary souvenir Wychwood Brewery glass.
If you are celebrating a special event such as a birthday or stag night which you want to be done on another day other than Friday, Saturday or Sunday then you should contact the brewery. Likewise if you’re buying the tour as a gift let them know and they will provide a voucher which you can send with a gift message.
In addition to beer and glasses the Wychwood brewery shop also sells the items from their merchandise catalogue range.

Unless you are local, travelling to Oxfor can seem like a bit of a trek just for a Hobgoblin Brewery Tour, so why not make a road trip out of it, that’s what we usually do. As the tour only lasts a few hours, you could tie in a visit to the near by Blenheim Palace. But you will obviously have to watch your alcohol intake before driving off.
Maybe we’ll see you there! Hope you enjoy this one and if you go we’d love to hear about it on out Facebook page. For more information please click here.
